Fox Picks up Bones for a Second Season
|
kindredice writes "Fox picks up crime drama for a second season Kate O'Hara - zap2it.com
"We're pretty damn happy," says executive producer Hart Hanson, who had just learned that Fox has renewed his freshman crime drama "Bones" for a second season. "I had long ago given up the hope of getting an early pickup. I knew we were performing quite well, and we seemed to have a really solid audience that they couldn't shake."
"Bones" stars David Boreanaz ("Angel," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer") as FBI Agent Seeley Booth, who is unofficially partnered with forensic anthropologist Dr. Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and, by extension, with her scientific cohorts (TJ Thyne, Michaela Conlin, Eric Millegan, Jonathan Adams) at the fictional Jeffersonian Institute, whom he calls "squints."
After a rough launch on Tuesday at 7 p.m. against a not-dissimilar show, CBS' military crime procedural "NCIS" -- which has garnered huge audience numbers in its third season -- "Bones" moved around when "American Idol" premiered in January, eventually landing on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

David Boreanaz
Angel’s suave star on going through crotches, the
perfect sock and his irrational fear of chickens…
Are you a
designer junkie or a bargain-hunter?
I go to designer stores rarely as they’ll convince me to
buy something that looks great but which I only end up wearing once – so I’ve
spent a shit load of money and it then sits in my closet. The designer wear
I’ve got more than anything of is Paul Smith, because his style has this really
delicate type of sharpness. Most of the rest is vintage stuff.
What is the
biggest style error a man can make?

Seriously DADDY COOL: David Boreanaz has gone soppy on us and it's all
because of a boy - a baby boy, that is. And he can even change a nappy.
Yes, Angel really is perfect!
Playing the vampire Angel has made him
one of the biggest stars in the world, but right now the world of David
Boreanaz is revolving around his new baby boy, Jaden Rayne, and his
marriage to actress Jaime Bergman. On a break from fighting off
time-travelling vampire hunters, David talked exclusively to New Woman
about how he's finally found happiness in the bottom of a nappy...
Congratulations on
becoming a daddy - how does it feel?

90 Degree Angel:
David Boreanaz
11/7/2002: The Green Room
By: Jason M
Burns
Even though
I never watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer, I somehow became a fan of its spin-off
Angel from the moment it aired. I realized there was an obvious connection, but
I think the darker feel of the latter is what drew me in. Whatever it was that
sparked my interest, it has made me a loyal viewer over the past three
seasons…rarely ever missing an episode. So, of course it was an honor to have
the show's star, David Boreanaz appear in The Green Room. (Audience claps
ferociously.)
I'm going to be honest
with you though. I've been known to take some flak from my buddies for watching
the show. In fairness, I did change poker night because of Angel's switch to
Mondays. I'm sure there is some unspoken law somewhere about how poker nights
with buddies should never be broken unless it involves maiming, death, or
Playboy Playmates. But anyway, from what I've noticed by talking with other
people in my age bracket is that the impression of Angel is that of a show for
teenage girls and not for the likes of me. Of course that is not the case and I
shall put my foot down right here and right now. The writing on this show is far
superior to most of the other material floating around in your tube because it
uses imagination. (Remember that was the thing that our parents always told us
was a good thing when we were growing up.) Apparently you're only allowed to
have an imagination as a child because as an adult I'm being mocked for watching
a show about a vampire with a soul. Screw that! The truth of it is…those who
make fun of the show have either never seen it or lack the imagination to
understand what is going on. (For the record: Those that have teased me for
watching Angel are the same people that watch the dating show where one person
goes out with three members of the opposite sex and then votes down to one
possible mate. Three cheers for putting your imagination to good use.)

Waiting In The "Wings"
The TV show
“Angel” has proven it has wings. And no one appreciates that more than its star,
David Boreanaz. The sci fi drama about a tortured vampire trying to save his
soul despite the forces of evil pulling at him, will enter its fourth season
this fall.
The show was a spin-off of the wildly popular “Buffy The Vampire Slayer”. But
there was some question if it could survive on its own. Its success quickly took
care of that. “It’s a testimony to the writing, and it took us a while to find
the show,” Boreanaz admits. “It wasn’t a big hit like ‘Buffy’ was right out of
the gate. It took a long time to develop the show, develop the characters.”
The vamping vampire was in Toronto for the N.H.L. Awards, but admits he’s
looking forward to going back to work soon. “We start back up in about a month,
so it’s pretty quick.” And so was the decision by Chum Television to renew the
series. You can see the latest episodes this September, when they debut on Space
and the New VR.

David Boreanaz--star of The WB's hit series
Angel--is riding the success of his brooding vampire character into the
movies. Boreanaz headlined the slasher movie Valentine, which opened
Feb. 2.
In the meantime, Boreanaz is wrapping up the second season of his show,
playing the character he originated five years ago on The WB's Buffy the
Vampire Slayer. The popularity of his character has opened doors for the
previously unknown actor, including the prospect of future movie roles. But
it's a double-edged stake: the rigorous shooting schedule has forced Boreanaz
to pass on several plum projects, including Resident Evil.
Boreanaz recently took a minute to talk with Science Fiction Weekly
while promoting Valentine. The following combines comments from two
separate interviews.
